Why does everything have to be single use plastic?
The average Ironman athlete consumes about 1 kg of plastic waste per season just from gel packaging. This is not only an environmental problem, but a massive user experience problem. Nobody wants to stuff a leaky, sticky wrapper into their jersey right next to their smartphone.
At Chumy, we believe that fueling your body doesn't have to mean carrying your own trash. Our mission is to eliminate this and many other problems in the sports nutrition sector.
* Basis: Approx. 200–250 gels/bars per season, each with a packaging weight of 4–5 g (foil/sachet) = approx. 1,000 g plastic waste/year. Projection for long-distance athletes in year-round training.
